I think it sounds nice with just a downpipe. A full exhaust is a different beast altogether. For power, if you don't plan on tuning then don't waste your time with a downpipe. You're not going to notice much aside from throttle response and a deeper note/louder burbles. The boost level settings of a Stage2 tune are too high for the back pressure generated by the resistance of the stock downpipe. The Stage2 tune tells the turbo to spin faster to a point where that stock back pressure can damage the turbo. A catless downpipe has emissions issues depending on your state's requirements. Hey guys I recently put in a VRSF catless downpipe on my 340i which I had already done a dual resonator delete on. ( I totally effed up by doing it that order but I originally didn't plan on going catless or tuning but changed my mind).
